Compound interest calculator
See what a monthly amount becomes over time. Enter what you are starting with, what you will add each month, the annual return you expect and how long you intend to keep going. The calculator shows the projected value, how much of it you put in, and how much came from growth.
What it does
It compounds your balance at the frequency you choose — monthly, quarterly, half-yearly or yearly — and adds your monthly contribution as it goes. Amounts are in Bahraini dinars.
How to read the result
- The split matters more than the total. The calculator separates what you contributed from what growth added. Early on almost all of it is your own money; the point at which growth overtakes contributions is the thing worth watching.
- The projected value is arithmetic, not a forecast. It assumes the return you typed, every year, without interruption. Real returns arrive unevenly and some years are negative.
- Try a lower return before you rely on a higher one. The difference between 5% and 8% over twenty years is large, and nobody can tell you which you will get.
